Short reads and structured paths for the questions that show up in real life: routines, behavior, regulation, and more.

Pick what you need right now

Some weeks you need hands in the house. Other weeks you need ideas you can use at 6 a.m. Both are normal.

In-home babysitting

Win back real time: work, rest, appointments, or a quiet hour, while your kids are with someone who treats the job like care, not coverage.
  • Request support from a family care specialist who shows up prepared and professional.
  • Maryland / DC metro, based in Odenton, MD, with many families in the greater DC area (typically up to about 90 minutes’ travel; exact service area confirmed when you reach out).

Guides & courses

Short reads, structured paths, and the occasional course or audio piece for the questions that actually show up at 6 a.m.
  • Topics across routines, behavior, sleep, emotional regulation, feeding, siblings, parent self-care, and the choices around childcare.
  • Structured paths like Inner Parent / Inner Child and Conscious Discipline sit alongside short articles, audio, and video. Some pieces are free, some are paid, all are written to be useful before they’re long.

Why Families Trust Us

When you open your door, you deserve someone steady, clear, and kind. Here’s what families across the DC metro tell us stands out, and what we set out to bring on purpose, every time.

  • Human-first: Real conversations, clear next steps, no shame for being overwhelmed.
  • Professional judgment: Childcare support from someone who takes safety and boundaries seriously.
  • Consistent service: Whether you find us on Threads, read something here, or book in-home care, you should feel like you’re with the same steady team each time, not three strangers telling three different stories.

What our families said

  • Lisa is an amazing person and such a kind and thoughtful caregiver! Our toddler and preschooler absolutely love her. She is so thoughtful and communicative and has a wonderful approach to working with kids. Our daughter loves all of the fun ideas Ms Lisa comes up with from nature walks to crafts. She is so thoughtful about parent preferences and routines and we feel very lucky she is part of our kids lives.

    Sarah G.

    Capitol Hill, Washington, DC

  • Lisa is the best nanny we have ever had. Hands down without question. She brought a level of expertise in relating with our children that felt effortless and genuine from the moment that she greeted everyone in our house. She impressed us initially and maintained an unprecedented level of professionalism throughout her time being our nanny. We feel lucky to have had her as part of our family for the time she worked for us.

    Dorian D.

    Columbia, MD

  • Lisa is our go-to sitter! She is great with our two kids (and our hyperactive dog) and is very patient. Lisa is always responsive and flexible. Highly recommend!

Common questions

Straight answers to the things people actually worry about before they reach out.

I've never heard of Kids Commune Daily. How do I know this is legit?

Fair question. Kids Commune Daily is founder-led. Our founder is an early childhood educator and trainer in the Washington, DC–Baltimore area and has been building the brand since 2022, focused on in-home care and learning. Our founder's background includes lead teaching in Maryland classrooms and curriculum and teaching support at the U.S. House of Representatives (adult learners in a high-accountability environment), along with residence-life work centered on health and safety. That mix is why you get clear accountability and professional judgment, not anonymous marketplace matching. If something doesn't feel like a fit, we'd rather say so than force a match.

Babysitting: is this only one person? What if I can't get the dates I need?

Right now, yes: one dedicated family care specialist provides your babysitting, which is why families get consistency and a single relationship to build on. As we grow, we'll add more vetted family care specialists in the same model. If dates don't line up, we'll be upfront and help you understand timing and options.

What area do you serve?

In-home babysitting is focused on the Maryland / DC metro area. We're based in Odenton, MD, and many families are in the greater Washington, DC region. Travel is typically up to about 90 minutes; we confirm what's realistic when you reach out. (Northern New Jersey is on the roadmap, but not active for booking yet.)

How does pricing work for babysitting?

In-home child care starts at $28 per hour on weekdays (Monday through Thursday) and $30 per hour on weekends (Friday through Sunday). From there, we may apply discounts or increases based on visit length, how often you book, and anything specific your family needs. Start a request and we'll walk through the details and share clear pricing before anything is confirmed.

What happens after I click "Get Childcare"?

You'll land on the babysitting flow with space to share what you need. We follow up with availability and next steps. Human responses, not a black hole.

Is "learning" just generic blog posts?

The goal is useful, structured help you can act on. Our educators pair classroom experience with curriculum and teaching support they have delivered at the U.S. House of Representatives (adult learners in a rigorous, professional setting). That experience helps guides and courses read like real teaching, not clickbait, and stay grounded in questions parents actually ask. Some pieces will be free; paid depth will always say what problem it solves.

I'm not ready to book. Is there still a point to being here?

Absolutely. Follow on Threads, skim Learning when it's live, and come back when you need backup. No pressure to pretend you're “on top of it” first.

Ready for backup, or just want the steady company?

If this week needs hands in your home and you’re in our service area, start a childcare request. If you’re here for skills first, head to learning. Either way, you can find us every day on Threads.
